About the Millforge Family

Inspired by Our Families. Crafted in Wisconsin for Yours.

We’re William and Steven, the people behind Millforge Co. We design and make personalized hardwood puzzles and gifts in our Wisconsin workshop.

For William, inspiration starts at home with Heidi and their son, Xavier. For Steven, starting a family with Jerelyn brought a new appreciation for the things families choose to surround themselves with. Together, we wanted to create something personal—pieces that invite play, celebrate a name, and become part of a family’s memories.

Our backgrounds in product and manufacturing engineering helped turn that idea into Millforge. We spent more than eight months designing, prototyping, and refining our puzzles before launching our shop.

We start with real hardwood, including American Cherry, White Oak, Walnut, and Curly Maple. The colors you see come from the wood itself, with grain and character that make every piece a little different.

In our workshop, we cut the boards and letters, smooth the edges, tumble-burnish the letters, and apply an oil finish that brings out the wood’s natural beauty. Our letters are a substantial half-inch thick, and every name puzzle includes a matching display stand.

You can choose different woods for the board and letters, creating a combination that feels right for your child, your home, or someone you love.

We believe value comes from the details you can see and feel: beautiful materials, careful finishing, thoughtful design, and a personal connection to the people making your order.

Millforge is a young shop, and we’re building it while raising our families. Personalized puzzles are where we began. As we grow, we look forward to bringing that same care to more hardwood toys, family keepsakes, and gifts for life’s special occasions.
